Why is mapping important?

High quality geological mapping rigorously tests geology modeled from drill core. It is critically important for the accurate control of ore grade, for scheduling and for short- and long-term planning and makes real-time monitoring by programs like MineSight® and Vulcan® and systems like IntelliMine® even more effective. Geological mapping provides the fundamental means to control slope stability and improves the rectification of production against budget. High quality geological mapping improves mill throughput and recovery by quantifying hardness and mineralogical parameters. Sound geological understanding, based on high quality mapping, contributes significantly to any outside exploration on which may rest the long-term viability of the operation, and finally, a geological map is a powerful visual aid for senior management, providing a scientific basis for judging an operation's ultimate potential.

Why Mine Mappers?

The price and cost structures most mines operate under today only permit the maintenance of small geological staffs. Their daily workloads usually do not allow sufficient time to do more then strict "rock-in-the-box" duties. More often then not, mapping of intermediate and final faces and other special projects are put off indefinitely and never actually accomplished.

Mine Mappers, L.L.C. can provide top quality geological mapping at significant cost savings to your operation. Outsourcing geological mapping minimizes interference with day-to-day operations, focuses and sharpens the quality of the mapping and can serve as an independent audit on geological models developed from drill core and other sources. And a greater proportion of your dollars can go into the ground, rather than into overhead.

Our firm can bring to your operation exceptionally skilled and experienced graduate-trained geologists who understand the procedures and methods of geological mapping in mines and who also understand the end uses of geological data. We can provide continuity in the mapping database with monthly or quarterly visits and by maintaining close consulting relationships with your geological staff. In addition, our expertise with AutoCad, ESRI's Arcview®, Mintec's MineSight® and Maptek's Vulcan® software will guarantee that our geological mapping can have an immediate impact on your operation. Geological maps from Mine Mappers will be tailored to the needs of your specific operation. They will more than just pretty pictures!
